Arkansas Indie Band Modeling Announce Filmic, Art-Rock Debut Album

Fayetteville-based band of brothers, MODELING have announced that their debut album SOMEWHERE BEFORE will be out on MAY 15th, 2022. They will celebrate the release live in Little Rock at VINOS BREW PUB on MAY 20th, 2022 and in Fayetteville at GEORGE'S MAJESTIC LOUNGE on MAY 27th, 2022. 

 

Formed in 2018, MODELING is comprised of brothers CONNOR (vocals/guitar/synth), RYAN (drums) and CUINN BROGAN (synth). The indie-electronic band places most of their sonic emphasis on intense, analog synth sounds and detail-oriented, electronic textures. 

 

SOMEWHERE BEFORE is the band’s first official release. The album was written, recorded, produced and mixed solely by the band at their home studio in Fayetteville, Arkansas, during the 2020 lockdown. Robin Schmidt (The 1975, The Japanese House), of 24-96 Studios, mastered the LP, and in October of 2021, CONNOR was chosen as a recipient of the ARTIST 360 GRANT to help fund the completion of the record.

 

SOMEWHERE BEFORE represents both a factual time that we can no longer return to and also a fictional time that we were never a part of. Many of the songs on the record are inspired by past events and center around themes of loneliness, longing and feelings of nostalgia. The sounds and sonic textures of the music are heavily influenced by old science fiction movies, film scores and photographs of people and places which feel alienated from reality.

 

MODELING released three singles leading up to the album; “Lodestone,” “Low Fantasy” and “Nothing Unexpected,” with write-ups from Wonderland Magazine, Vanyaland and Idle Class Magazine.
